Let’s face it: dogs are great companions to have no matter where you go. Whether it’s hiking Deception Pass, walking the banks of the Willamette or strolling through the streets of Seattle, man’s best friend always seems to be up to head outside with you.

Here are four Seattle spots you and your pooch won’t want to pass up:

Golden Gardens Park

With more than two miles of beachfront, Golden Gardens is a city gem. Located in Ballard, the park has beautiful views, walking trails and an off-leash dog park. Try moving your morning jog to Golden Gardens where your four-legged friend will be happy to run with you!

Magnuson Park

The city’s second largest park may be one of the best Seattle spots for dogs. With a massive off-leash dog park that borders Lake Washington and plenty of activities to be had for the whole family, Magnuson Park is a must-stop for any canine. During the warm summer months, this is a great place to spend a day swimming with your friends and loved ones.

Discovery Park

Nearly twice the size of Magnuson, Discovery Park is an urban oasis, with 534 acres of beaches, sand dunes, cliffs and forest. Next time you head off hiking, bring your dog to explore some of the park’s nearly 12 miles of trails. Just be sure to practice Leave No Trace ethics and bring plenty of water!

Green Lake

There are plenty of reasons why Green Lake is one of the most popular Seattle spots. The views are beautiful and the location is stellar. When you add your furry friend to the mix, it only gets better! If you go to Green Lake to exercise with your dog, try heading there early in the morning, or maybe even for a quick lunch break. It’s a great way to enjoy Green Lake without dealing with the usual crowds.
