3 Berry Smoothie Recipe: Boost Your Breakfast and Your Day
Breakfast. It’s been called the most important meal of the day. A morning meal high in vitamins and protein can boost your energy for the day ahead and help keep your afternoon junk food cravings at bay. However, we all know there isn’t always time to cook a healthy breakfast. A quick, delicious solution? Try a smoothie!
Berries are great natural sources of vitamins, antioxidants, nutrients and enzymes. They’re also believed to play a role in preventing some potential health problems. For instance, the antioxidants found in blueberries can help reduce total cholesterol, helping to improve your cardiovascular health. Strawberries, which are high in vitamin C, help keep your immune system in check while raspberries, another antioxidant-rich berry, can help to reduce inflammation.
Smoothies are also a clever way to slip greens into your diet – without even tasting them. Spinach, for example, is a mild-tasting green that is an excellent source of iron and vitamin A. Just don’t be turned off by the green color. It may not look great, but it will still taste sweet and delicious!

Three –Berry Smoothie Recipe
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries)
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1 tablespoon ground flax seed
- 1-2 scoops vanilla protein powder (you can find many different brand options at your local grocery story)
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- Sprinkling of cinnamon
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. If the consistency is too thick, add one quarter cup of cold filtered water to the blender and mix again.
